Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-05-06

Plain-language summary. Use AtlasRisks for your own risk-decisions; don't republish or resell the GGRI without a license. The score is informational, not a recommendation. We're not liable for what happens because of how you used the data. Cancel any time.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or otherwise using AtlasRisks ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The Service

AtlasRisks provides a daily geopolitical risk index (the "GGRI") and related dashboard, alerts, and data products. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

3. Subscription & payment

4. Refund policy

We aim to make billing fair and predictable. The defaults below cover the common cases; for anything outside, email hello@atlasrisks.com and we'll work with you.

All refunds processed by Stripe land back on the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Use in your work

Subscribers may quote, cite, and reference the GGRI in internal briefings, client deliverables (when relevant to your work and properly attributed), and academic research. Attribution: "Source: AtlasRisks GGRI, [date]." For any redistribution beyond internal use, contact us for a license.

7. The GGRI is informational

The GGRI is a direction-of-risk indicator, not a recommendation, prediction, or substitute for analyst judgment. We make no representation that the score is complete, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Decisions based on the GGRI are your own.

8. Source attribution

The GGRI is computed from public-source intelligence drawn from the source pool listed in our methodology. We do not republish source content; we link to it. State-affiliated sources are tagged in the output as such.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, the GGRI methodology, the dashboard interface, and all related software, copy, and visual design are owned by AtlasRisks, a brand of Cortexis Group, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Subscribers receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for the duration of their subscription.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms. Subscribers may cancel any time. Upon termination, your access ceases at the end of the current billing cycle.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including, without limitation, decisions made in reliance on the GGRI.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify AtlasRisks against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

13. Sanctions, export controls & restricted parties

You represent and warrant that you (and any users you provision under a Team or Enterprise account) are not (a) listed on, controlled by, or acting on behalf of any person or entity on a sanctioned-party list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the United Nations Security Council, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other applicable sanctions authority; and (b) you will not provide access to the Service to any such person or entity, and (c) you will not access or use the Service from, or export the Service to, any jurisdiction that is the target of comprehensive U.S. sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea / Donetsk / Luhansk regions of Ukraine). We may terminate any account upon notice if we have a reasonable basis to believe this representation is or has become inaccurate.

14. Data Processing Addendum (DPA)

For subscribers who are processors or controllers of personal data subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), the United Kingdom Data Protection Act / UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or comparable data-protection law, we make available a Data Processing Addendum that incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international transfers. Request the current AtlasRisks DPA at legal@atlasrisks.com. The DPA, once countersigned, supplements (and where it conflicts, supersedes) these Terms with respect to personal-data processing. Our full data handling posture is documented in our Privacy Policy.

15. Service Level (SLA — Enterprise tier)

For Enterprise tier subscribers ($999/month or annual equivalent), we commit to a target Monthly Uptime Percentage of 99.5% for the Live Atlas dashboard, the daily brief email delivery (measured by successful queue acceptance at Resend), and the read API (/api/v1/*) endpoints. Monthly Uptime Percentage is calculated as (Total Minutes − Excluded Minutes − Downtime Minutes) / (Total Minutes − Excluded Minutes). Excluded: scheduled maintenance announced at least 48 hours in advance (capped at 4 hours/month), force majeure, subprocessor outages outside our reasonable control (Stripe, Resend, Netlify regional outages), and customer-caused issues. Service credits for missed SLA: 10% of monthly fee for < 99.5%, 25% for < 99%, 50% for < 95% — claimed within 30 days of the affected month via legal@atlasrisks.com, and credited against the next billing cycle. Pro and Team tiers do not carry an explicit SLA but receive best-effort 99.5%-equivalent operations and the same post-incident communications.

16. Data residency

Subscriber records, audit logs, and operational blob storage are hosted via Netlify Blob storage, which is backed by AWS S3. Default region is us-east-1 (Northern Virginia, United States). For Enterprise customers with regulatory data-residency obligations (EU, UK, Canada, UAE, or other), regional Blob storage can be arranged via Netlify's regional offering at the additional pricing they publish; contact legal@atlasrisks.com to scope. Stripe processes payment data in its own globally-distributed infrastructure with EU / UK / Brazil regional options for European customers (see Stripe's documentation). Resend delivers email from AWS infrastructure; the email body is in transit only.

17. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Miami-Dade County, Florida, except where prohibited by law. For enterprise contracts where the customer is incorporated outside the United States, we will consider in good faith customer-jurisdiction redlines (e.g., English law for UK customers, governing law of the customer's headquarters for EU customers) on a case-by-case basis. Contact legal@atlasrisks.com with proposed redlines for review.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance via email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
